Category: Inspiration, News, Date: 4 July 2022

Only a short drive from the South Australian capital, Adelaide, Willunga is a quaint and quintessential town perfect for your next holiday break.

Full of heritage charm, its historical buildings can be found at every turn. Some popular sites include the Willunga Court House &Police Station Museum, built in 1855.

Home to galleries and studios, that are brimming with mosaics, glass, street sculptures and hand made jewellery – it’s an art lovers delight.

The town is also filled with beautiful boutiques and shops to explore, and there will be something that you will just have to have for the van or the car, or the neighbours looking after your place. Or it may be time to spoil yourself!

The beautiful parks and playgrounds are a close distance to the main town centre, and are particularly stunning in winter when the Almond Blossom trees are in bloom.

It also boasts its chic cafes, pubs, restaurants, acclaimed pizzerias and a national award-winning weekend farmers market, which is a favourite meeting place for locals and visitors every Saturday morning.

For those keen to stretch their legs, there is plenty on offer, with an 18-hole golf course along with many walking trails, including the Coast to Vines Rail Trail.

Located a short distance from Willunga, The Onkaparinga River National Park is a natural wonder and is home to the tranquil Pink Gum Campground. In winter, enjoy close-up views of flowering natives like wattle and grevillea. The cooler days also make it a great time of year to explore some of the park’s longer trails.
