Caravanners and campers have a lot to celebrate, with camping accommodation providers recognised at the Australia Tourism Awards. All three winners in the Tourist and Caravan Parks category are Accredited through the Caravan Industry Association of Australia program.
The big winner was Cairns Coconut Resort (QLD) which took home gold in the Tourist and Caravan Parks category for the seventh time – and second year in a row.
Coming in second and third in the category were BIG4 Beacon Resort (VIC) and BIG4 Deniliquin Holiday Park (NSW) respectively.
Camping and caravanning accommodation providers were also recognised outside the category.
Ibis Styles Katherine (NT) won gold in the Standard Accommodation category, a great choice to stay in the territory with caravan sites available for road trippers.
Rawnsley Park Station (SA) took home the Silver award for Unique Accommodation – a park that has not only great camping facilities but fantastic cabins in the form of Eco Villas.
Similarly, Capricorn Caves seized Bronze in the Tourist Attractions category – they have a plethora of accommodation types available including camping options for guests to immerse themselves in the breathtaking tourist site.
“We as an industry are very pleased to see great caravanning and camping accommodation providers recognised in their category and beyond,” said Stuart Lamont, CEO of Caravan Industry Association of Australia.
“More and more we are seeing parks innovate to create memorable experiences for the millions of Australian’s who go caravanning and camping each year.”
“It’s great to have industry recognition for the improved capacity and increased quality in the product the parks are bringing to tourism in Australia,” Lamont said.
