New South Wales Has It All- Plan Your Next Road Trip Today

Category: CTAM, News, Date: 20 August 2023

Whatever adventures you seek, New South Wales holiday parks provide the perfect base to recharge with long stretches of pristine beaches to thermal pools and so much in between.

Driving from Tathra to Ballina can take as little as a day, however, it should take a road tripper longer. Much Longer!

NSW has so much to offer no matter which road you choose, be it the coastal, country or outback route to get you where you want to be.

Here are a few holiday parks to spark inspiration for your next NSW adventure.

Tathra Beach Eco Camp

Upon arrival at this Sapphire Coast camp, you need only unplug, unwind and unpack.

Choose between luxury bellbird tents, perfect for couples to snuggle up in; larger Driftwood Tents with oversized beds and indoor and outdoor amenities; stylishly furnished cabins; and architecturally designed, self-contained Gumnut Pots with reverse-cycle air-conditioning.

When not ensconced in your glamping abode, wander along the Wharf to Wharf Walk, a 27-kilometre track tracing the coast along cliffs, bays and secluded beaches.

Take your pick from the region’s 150 beaches, snorkel around the historic Tathra Wharf and sample the region’s sumptuous Sydney Rock oysters.

Discovery Parks Lane Cove Holiday Park

You need not venture far to find respite from the city. Just 10km from the Sydney CBD, this North Sydney holiday park is cocooned by 1000 acres of bushland.

The one-of-a-kind Safari Tent is an exclusive sanctuary, where you swap a sleeping bag for king bed, shared amenities for private bathroom and camp kitchen for a private barbecue area.

Relax on your deck and drink in the starry sky then wake to the sound of birdsong.

Located within Lane Cove National Park, there’s ample opportunity to spot native wildlife and plants.

Take a guided mindfulness walk with Forest Minds or hire a rowboat or pedal boat with Lane Cove Boatshed down the Lane Cove River.

Moree Tourist Park

Few holiday parks can claim their swimming pool is filled with therapeutic, thermal waters.

This Moree park can, deservedly so, thanks to the deep springs of the Great Artesian Basin.

Between thermal dips, spend time on the winding Mehi River, swapping tales with fellow travellers around the firepit or while cooking up a feast in the outback-style camp kitchen, and wandering the heritage streets of Moree.

Take a guided tour of the town’s Art Deco architecture and visit Bank Art Museum Moree — housed in a 1911 bank building, it has one of the largest displays of contemporary Aboriginal art in regional NSW.

Ballina Beach Nature Resort

Perched on the banks of the Richmond River, hugged by coastal bushland and a short walk to the powdery white sand of South Ballina Beach, this waterfront spot bodes well for revitalisation and active pursuits.

The stretch of nearby coast attract surfers and novices alike, you could hire a tinny -for river cruising or hike the South Ballina and Tuckeroo Trails.

Back at the park, which caters for camping and luxe glamping, families are front of mind with two pools, a playground, kids club, go-karts and a wildlife education program.

Bookend your days with a coffee from the park’s Turtle Café and a sundowner at Sunset Bar.
