Lake Tinaroo Holiday Park is set to make a big splash with the grand opening of its adventure precinct on Saturday, November 4.
At the heart of the Adventure Precinct lies the Splash Park, a vibrant and dynamic aquatic wonderland that sets new standards for inclusive water play.
Designed in collaboration with Urban Play, Waterplay, and the Seven Senses Foundation, this zero-depth splash park embraces universal and sensory-focused design principles ensuring all guests can enjoy the fun!
The splash park is action-packed with interactive features such as spray guns, cascading water trees, jumping puddles, sensory rocks, and water tables.
It offers hours of thrilling, water-filled fun for the entire family, no matter their age or ability.
Anchoring this aquatic paradise is a custom-designed play tower in vibrant shades of blue and green.
This centrepiece is filled with adventure, boasting features such as slides, dumping buckets, and playful spraying animals, ensuring non-stop excitement for all.
The Adventure Precinct wouldn’t be complete without a pool, and Lake Tinaroo Holiday Park has gone above and beyond.
Their visionary design accommodates individuals of all abilities allowing them to experience the benefits of water in a serene environment.
The pool design encompasses a hot tub, multiple depths allowing for swimming and walking, easy steps for access, seating, an accessible ramp, and dynamic hydrotherapy features.
Queensland-first Therapeutic Sprays strategically placed along the accessible ramp encourage the restoration of the body and mind of people of all abilities.
In addition to the Splash Park and Accessible Pool, Lake Tinaroo Holiday Park is proud to introduce seven new villas overlooking all the action, including an accessible villa, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
“This accessible water play precinct has been a vision in the making for a number of years and it’s incredible to see it all finally taking shape.
We’re thrilled to say we’re confidently on target and will have the new precinct ready for our Saturday, November 4 opening,” director Lachlan Farquharson said.
“The Atherton Tablelands is an iconic destination, much-loved the world over for its unique and diverse natural charms, but we wanted to offer the whole package to our locals and guests.”
“Now, when they stay with us, guests have direct access to stunning Lake Tinaroo, proximity to the many spectacular destinations throughout the region, and in-house water-play for those days spent in the comfort of the park.”
Mr Farquharson said the water precinct, comprising two separately initiated projects – first the cabins and splash park and later the resort pool and an accessible amenities block – would not have been possible without the funding assistance of both a Tourism Experience Development Grant (new cabins and splash park) and Caravan Parks Development Program funding (pool and amenities).
In addition to the joy it promises to bring individuals, couples and families, Mr Farquharson said the new water precinct was tipped to increase Lake Tinaroo Holiday Park’s already substantial economic contribution to the tablelands region, bringing more visitors with an increased local spend, as well as the creation of more local jobs.
