Caravanning. . . Reimagined

Category: Inspiration, News, Date: 18 August 2026

When I think of caravan parks I don’t think of beautiful luxurious bathrooms, sitting on a day bed beside the pool sipping a cocktail, having a warm spa or hitting the gym. But at BIG4 Trentham Waters they have reimagined caravan travel.

This Palm Springs inspired resort is what dreams are made of.

For starters, we were welcomed to paradise by a macaw. I’m not usually a bird person… but Tango might just have converted me.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly you could be mistaken for thinking you had turned up at a friend’s place.

We then headed out to check out our ensuite site. The sites are spacious, grassed and fully serviced with power and water. But the ensuite is the star of the show. This was the bathroom of my dreams. A large luxurious shower, adorned with beautiful shampoo, conditioner and body wash. A large basin and mirror and toilet. All ours. All private. And just a couple of steps from our van.

The standard amenities are just as luxurious. Separate rooms with your own toilet, shower and basin.

After settling in, we headed to Kokomo, the onsite restaurant for dinner. The atmosphere is warm and cosy with a beautiful fire place being the centrepiece. It’s the perfect spot to spend a winters night. Hot tip, the smash burger was soooo delicious. Highly recommend. We have not stopped thinking about it since. Important to note too that the food is very reasonably priced.

Not only is this a paradise for adults but kids have not been forgotten. There is a basketball court, tennis court, movie room, pools, water slides, bikes… so much to do! Oh and the games room… it honestly feels like walking into Timezone. As a kid this would have blown my mind!

The communal fire pit is lit at 5pm each night and becomes the social mecca of the park for a pre dinner drink and chat.

It’s caravanning, but boujee.

Whether you’re a local looking for a weekend escape or a full-time traveller exploring Australia, Trentham Waters deserves a spot on your itinerary.

And if you don’t own a caravan? Don’t worry. Their luxury villas mean you can still experience everything this incredible resort has to offer.

Lani Day

Lani and Warren have been travelling through Far North Queensland in their caravan and are now making their way south through New South Wales and into South Australia, discovering unique stays and falling in love with the region along the way.
