Finding a suitable location for a birthday party can be a hassle if you’re not one of those blessed with the space at home.
Location-scouting is also about the sort of experience you’re hoping to create.
For kids parties, there’s no better place than a local caravan or holiday park. There’s space to run around, facilities for making food, a built-in place to stay for family or friends from out of town, and many facilities to keep the kids entertained for hours.
Crystal Brook Tourist Park in Victoria (one of many Family Parks in Australia) have been running birthday parties since early 2012, and have held about one a month ever since. Often these parties have a fun theme, and the park staff get involved too, facilitating games and
keeping a watchful eye while the parents make use of the camp kitchen, or simply celebrate themselves!
“We average 25 guests per party, but our biggest was a Pirate Party, where there were over 50 attendees – all dressed up in their swashbuckling best,” said park manager Dennis Werthenbach.
“Party guests get the use of Go-Karts, the pool, playground, and games room, our jumping pillow, and of course the camping kitchen and alfresco area. And the kids go home with a ‘busy nippers’ goody bag,” Dennis said.
Hosting a birthday party at a caravan or holiday park is a great idea – not only will your available facilities greatly increase, but you’ll be welcomed with open arms and big smiles from park managers, and the community that are staying there.
