BIG4 Gets Behind Road to Origin

The State of Origin series is regarded by many as Australia’s greatest sporting rivalry. Each year, it generates intense passion, anticipation, and excitement.

While on paper this rugby league showcase is a contest between New South Wales and Queensland, in reality it grips sports fans across Australia and even those overseas.

In 2015, BIG4 is getting caught up in the hype as part of its involvement in the action-packed Road to Origin Tour. The tour builds Origin fever in regional communities across New South Wales and Queensland and connects former Origin stars with their fans.

There is a variety of events to satisfy the enthusiasm of rugby league supporters during this five-week road trip, including BIG4 Mini League Clinics. These clinics are hosted by former gun players, Matt Cooper and Brent Tate, and will be conducted as afterschool events for kids and families. Matt and Brent will each lead a team of kids in a friendly match, while also providing them with tips from their playing days.

These clinics will be held at BIG4 parks* – see below for a full rundown of tour dates. These free community events do not require registration, but if you need further details please contact your participating BIG4 park.

New South Wales

Monday May 18 – BIG4 Bathurst Panorama Holiday Park: 4pm-5.30pm
Tuesday May 19 – BIG4 Mudgee: 4pm-5.30pm
Wednesday May 20 – NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Park: Umina, 4pm-5.30pm

*Please note: the Bathurst event will be held at the Bathurst Sportsground in Howick Street.

Queensland

Monday 22 June – BIG4 Cairns Coconut Resort: 4pm-5.30pm
Tuesday 23 June – BIG Walkabout Palms Townsville: 4pm-5.30pm
Wednesday June 24 – BIG4 Airlie Cove Resort and Caravan Park: 4pm-5.30pm
