Where can you sleep within an ancient volcano, take a slide down from the peak of Wollumbin-Mount Warning, swim with turtles near Cook Island or feel the spray of waves crashing off Fingal Headland rocks? You can experience a snippet of what Australia’s Green Cauldron has to offer right here at BIG4 Tweed Billabong Holiday Park.
BIG4 Tweed Billabong Holiday Park is pleased to announce the launch its new ‘Australia’s Green Cauldron Water Playground’. We’re calling this Australia’s best Holiday Park water playground. This water playground follows our ‘Australia’s Green Cauldron Kitchen and Lounge’ launched in March 2014. We aim to help spread the word about the beauty and diversity of Australia’s Green Cauldron and encourage our guests to explore the whole region.
As the name suggests, our water playground is themed around our local area which has been nominated by Tourism Australia as a National Landscape named ‘Australia’s Green Cauldron’. The area was once a large shield volcano and now encompasses Wollumbin-Mount Warning, the surrounding World Heritage listed National Parks, unspoilt beaches and headlands of unusual volcanic rock formations. This vast caldera stretches from Byron Bay to the Gold Coast and west towards the Great Dividing Range.
Holiday Parks have certainly moved on from the humble caravan park as guests now prefer the service, facilities and glamour of a 5 star resort with the excitement and atmosphere of a Holiday Park. BIG4 Holiday Parks are known as the innovators in the Australian Holiday Park industry, if not the world. This is another example of BIG4 Parks leading the way in new products to ensure we are the leading chain of Holiday Parks in Australia.
Park owner Andrew Tribe says the latest addition to the Park will add even more value for guests visiting Tweed Heads. “We wanted to build a water playground to provide kids with both an active and educational experience. Kids are stick on their personal devices or computers too much at home and school. Their holidays need to be an active and fun time spent reconnecting with their parents. Our water playground has 3 different areas aimed at different age groups. Wollumbin-Mt Warning has 3 large slides, Fingal Headland has a tipping bucket and medium slide, and the Cook Island toddler area has sea animals”.
