A Coastal Gem: The Magic of Bermagui Blue Pool

Category: Inspiration, News, Date: 10 December 2025

Tucked away on the stunning Sapphire Coast is one of the most picturesque ocean-fed rock pools in New South Wales. The Bermagui Blue Pool has welcomed visitors since 1937, offering a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours, thriving marine life and sweeping coastal views that showcase the region’s natural beauty.

This truly is one hidden seaside gem you’ll want to add straight to your bucket list!

This beautiful, family-friendly destination is free and open 24 hours a day. With a kids’ wading pool, car park, toilets, change rooms, showers and picnic tables, you can easily spend a long, sun-soaked summer’s day here relaxing, swimming and taking in the views.

Visitors are often blown away by the area’s natural beauty — the dramatic cliffside setting and the rich sea life beneath the surface, including sea stars, crabs, fish and marine snails. You may even spot whales or seals offshore from the pool and its viewing platform, especially during migration months.

The Bermagui Blue Pool is a favourite for swimming and snorkelling in the warmer months, as is the vibrant seaside town of Bermagui itself. The town is known for its coastal scenery, bush walks, welcoming community, diverse attractions and a huge range of water activities — from deep-sea and game fishing to boating, paddleboarding and kayaking.

Bermagui also boasts an impressive food scene, with options ranging from fresh local seafood to Italian, Asian, European and modern Australian cuisine — along with excellent local produce, markets and nearby wineries for travellers to enjoy.
