Riverfront holidays don’t get any better than Discovery Parks – Renmark Riverfront. Smack bang on the banks of the Murray River, see if you can snag one of their waterfront cabins or sites for the best view in the park. There are so many family-friendly features, including a resort pool, splash park, adventure playground, bouncing pillow, gym, pump track, games room, tennis court, hire equipment, half-basketball court, and – of course – the river right on your doorstep for all the water activities you could possibly dream of!

Victor Harbor Holiday Park is made for summer, when guests flock to the swimming pool and splash park. Full sunshine days mean it’s easy to tick off all the local attractions, from the horse-drawn tramway to nearby surf beaches. In park, there’s also plenty to keep you busy, with a bouncing pillow, pump track, mini golf, playground, and kids’ facilities. Because of their wide range of accommodation and sites, the park is a top choice for groups (some cabins sleep up to eight guests!) and has a selection of pet-friendly cabins to make sure your furry friend doesn’t miss out.

Belair National Park Holiday Park is next door neighbours with its namesake nature wonderland. That means it’s easy as pie to fill your days with hiking, biking, birdwatching, and picnicking in the Great Outdoors. When it’s time to cool down, dive into the park’s swimming pool. Kids can have a ball on their playground, play disc golf, or ride around the pump track. Stay in a cottage, cabin, or eco tent (select pet-friendly options available) or camp on their tranquil powered and unpowered sites. On top of that, if you don’t totally want to escape the city, the CBD is an easy 20-minute drive away. It’s the best of both worlds!

Who’s ready for a road trip? Make this summer the year that you experience SA’s beautiful Eyre Peninsula, with a waterfront getaway at Discovery Parks – Streaky Bay Foreshore. It’s the perfect spot to explore local landmarks like Murphy’s Haystacks and Point Labatt Conservation Park. Enjoy the water view from sunrise to sunset when you stay in a beachfront cabin, unit, or powered site. There’s a kiosk for your favourite takeaway snacks, bouncing pillow, activity room, pedal karts, and a playground to keep every traveller amused, plus a boat ramp to capitalise on the outstanding location and its reputation for fishing.

Less than an hour from the city, Moana Beach Tourist Park is a beachside delight. Breathe in the sea breeze on a powered site (drive-through sites available for bigger vehicles) or relax in a spacious villa. The shore is only steps away – for swimming, boogie boarding, and surfing – and the McLaren Vale wine region is less than 10 minutes’ drive. Start a rally on the tennis court, cycle around the park on their pedal karts, and cook up your dream BBQ. This place is built for summer holidays!

Slip into a summer state of mind at The Park Jamestown. The park is located on the banks of Belalie Creek, at the top of the town’s main street for easy access to cafés and shops. Wake up to birdsong from your site, cabin, or villa and then set out on your daily adventures. There are incredible spots to go hiking and mountain biking in the Southern Flinders Ranges, from Mount Remarkable to Alligator Gorge, and the Bundaleer Forest Reserve. If you’d rather be sipping world-class Riesling, head in the other direction towards the Clare Valley wine region.

Summer sure looks good on Cape Jaffa Holiday Park. Shady, spacious sites are like heaven for campers and caravanners, or you can book an ensuite or standard cabin. When you’re not making the most of the beach access and jetty across the road, hang out in park with a playground, kiosk, and BBQs. There are so many day trips to be enjoyed from here: Robe is half an hour away, and the cellar doors of the Coonawarra Wine Region are yours to explore in 90 minutes. (Top tip, the Limestone Coast also makes an awesome addition if you’re already on your way down the Great Ocean Road.)

Spend your summer in Tanunda at Discovery Parks – Barossa Valley. This park is truly packed with family-friendly entertainment, including a splash park, swimming pool, playground, kiosk, bike station, hire equipment, and bouncing pillow. The kids will be out of their minds with joy! The Barossa Valley is home to more than 150 wineries, so it’s the ultimate place to fill your days with wine tastings, platters packed with SA produce, and refreshing vineyard scenery. A stop at Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop is always a good idea, and kids (and kids at heart) will be fascinated by the Whispering Wall.

The Yorke Peninsula has so much to explore, and Ardrossan Caravan Park makes a great home base for your adventures. The park has powered sites, cabins, and villas, and the deck of a Seaview Villa is the best vantage point to catch the sunset over the sea. Plus, with the region’s pedigree for seafood, make sure you get some Yorke on your fork! Though the colour of the lakes is weather dependant, summer is typically a suitable time to see the pink lakes along the Yorke Peninsula Salt Lake Trail. You can also go bushwalking through Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park and navigate the Yorke Peninsula Art Trail to see large-scale murals and painted silos.

Immerse yourself in Kangaroo Island’s nature haven when you stay at Kangaroo Island Cabins. If you prefer a peaceful getaway to a park packed with activities, this is the one for you. Offering a range of 10 self-contained, one- and two-bedroom cabins and a holiday house, the park is located just five minutes from Kingscote. That means your location is both peaceful and convenient, and it’s highly likely that you’ll see kangaroos and other wildlife from your cabin window. The island is brimming with attractions, from Emu Bay Lavender to Flinders Chase National Park and all the incredible food and wine producers in between.
