Winner’s Story: My Trip Around Tasmania in an Apollo Mortorhome

Category: News, Date: 9 June 2015

Last year, Cassie Taylor won a trip around Tasmania in an Apollo motorhome thanks to Let’s Go Caravan & Camping and Apollo Motorhomes.

Cassie was sitting by her oldest son Matthew’s hospital bed at the 13-year-old received treatment for his cystic fibrosis when she entered our Sunrise competition, and luckily for her and her family, her entry was judged to be the winner!

So in January this year, Cassie, her husband and her two kids set off on their dream family holiday.

They started off in Hobart and toured around for six days, planning to head back at the end of the trip.

They packed most of the state into their 35-day trip, including Coles Bay, Launceston, Cataract Gorge, up north to the Tamar Region, Ulverstone and Cradle Mountain.

“We scaled and conquered the Cradle Mountain Summit which was an epic seven and a half hour epic trek,” said Cassie, “A half a week later we landed in the beautiful town of Stanley to try our hand at fishing.”

“We have experienced all 4 seasons here! We did lots of walking and scaled the very difficult Mount Amos and I conquered some fears…. not without tears half way up (tears of pride)!”

“We have seen lots of wild life including a few Echidna’s and lots of Paddymelons, a Platypus, a wild Tassie Devil amongst others.”

Cassie and her family had a great time exploring Tasmania, and would recommend it to any family to give it a go.

The lucky family is now back at home in Adelaide, with some extra fun family memories to treasure, thanks to their trip.

“We are forever grateful. Thank you so much for this amazing gift!”
