Category: Inspiration, News, Date: 15 July 2024

Everyone has a few spots around Australia that are sitting at the top of their travel bucket-list. We asked our fantastic Let’s Go Caravan and Camping community on Facebook what their next big adventure is! Their bucket-list destinations are vibrant and diverse and cover every corner of Australia, from Cape York to the Great Australian Bight. Are any of your bucket-list destinations on the list?

Top Bucket-List Adventures

Western Australia (WA)

Western Australia is a popular bucket-list destination among our community. Andrew L is planning a trip to Kalumburu, Honeymoon Bay in September, while Bruce E dreams of the Kimberley, and specifically the Horizontal Falls for Louise McC. Dianne A, Glynis B, Janet I, Jim M, Sonya D, Stacey F, and Tina H are all eager to explore various parts of WA. Lisa R plans to travel across the Nullarbor, to Esperance and up through the middle.

South-Western Australia also has its admirers. Kim W aims to visit South WA, and Sue-J S praises its beaches, claiming they are better than Fiji’s and equal to the Maldives! Rick L enjoys Fair Harvest Camping in the Margaret River region, while Tania T is set on exploring the West Coast all the way to the horizon!

Tasmania (TAS)

Tasmania is next on the list for Greg S, who is currently on Eyre Peninsula. Irishtown C.C, Noel M, and Only Leaving Footprints, all have Tasmania high on their bucket lists as well. Tasmania’s natural beauty and abundant wildlife makes it a popular destination for many in the caravan and camping community.

Victoria (VIC)

In Victoria, Peter D-S is excited about the Great Ocean Road. The magical 12 Apostles, iconic surf breaks, waterfalls and more make this famous coastal road trip a popular bucket-list destination.

Northern Territory (NT)

In the Northern Territory, Maryline P plans to visit Nhulunbuy in East Arnhem Land. Wendy J looks forward to exploring NT as well, whereas Will R has adventurous plans to travel right up the guts with just his swag, staying off the beaten track. Shez G has the NT’s vibrant Top End capital, Darwin on his mind.

Queensland (QLD)

Queensland is another favourite. Melanie J is heading to K’gari Island in September, while Dave S has an epic 3-month trip planned from Brisbane to Broome, then the Gibb River, and finally the Cape! Alan W has his sights set on the Dinosaur Trail in the outback and Jane B hopes to hit Cape York in May/June. Maree C, Diane L and Sara B are all hoping to get to the Birdsville Big Red Bash.

New South Wales (NSW)

In New South Wales, Paul P dreams of visiting Wooli or Yamba in the Clarence Valley, just north of Coffs Harbour. The Darling River Run is also attracting attention. Neville C is interested in Jugiong, and Michelle C is considering Kiama, Port Stephens, or Forster as they all have plenty to do and see for both adults and kids. Kerrie M is excited to visit Dorrigo.

South Australia (SA)

South Australia also has its share of dream destinations. Noel M is planning to cross the Nullarbor, hopefully next year, and Will J is keen on the iconic Flinders Ranges. Pat K believes the Great Australian Bight is even more spectacular than the Great Ocean Road and Heather L plans to visit the stunning Venus Bay in July.

The Lap

Some community members are planning the ultimate lap of Australia. Brian B did a half lap last year and is doing the whole lap starting in May this year. Quenton G has plans for a full lap clockwise and then anticlockwise!

The Let’s Go Caravan and Camping community’s bucket-list destinations highlight the incredible variety of adventures and locations Australia has to offer. From the rugged beauty of Western Australia and Tasmania to the scenic coastal routes of the Great Ocean Road and Cape York. There’s no shortage of places to explore and experiences to be had.

Whether you’re planning a major road trip, a relaxing getaway, or a one-in-a-lifetime journey, our community’s stories and recommendations provide endless inspiration for your next caravan and camping journey. Happy travels!
