Weird, unique spots in Tasmania

Tasmania may possibly be one of the most underrated travel destinations of all time. The awe-inspiring forests of the west, the snowy mountains in the center and the sandy coastlines of the east provide a travel experience like no other.

There are truly no shortages of weird, unique tourist attractions throughout Tasmania.

The Southern Lights

Many Australian’s may not be aware just how easy it can be to go see the Southern Lights.

You don’t have to travel all the way over to Alaska or Europe, just head south.

A popular viewing spot is Mt Wellington, just near capital city Hobart.

Lower Crackpot Village

If you’re looking for a whimsical type of holiday, don’t skip past Lower Crackpot Village AKA the self proclaimed “promised land”.

With smurf-like cottages and fairytale architecture, you’re in a completely different world.

It’s home to one of the largest mazes in the world, and is a great family-friendly activity for your trip.

Sheffield

Sheffield, the town of murals, is another great addition to the funky attractions of Tasmania.

Check out the town covered in several beautiful murals. The landscape is truly unique, being such a flat terrain you can see the entirety of Mt. Roland all from the local coffee shop.

Nowhere Else

This is more of a niche location linking on to our previous addition. Just a suburb away from Sheffield is a town called Nowhere Else.

The Edge of the World

Now this one is pretty unique.

The edge of the world really lives up to it’s name.

From the coastline, there is close to nothing but sea until you reach Argentina which is on the complete other side of the world.

It’s a breath-taking view, and it’s pretty cool to flex to your friends that you’ve visited the edge of the world. Plus, tours are now available to take you around!

Richmond

This addition to the list is slightly less weird and more unique.

It’s almost like stepping back in time visiting Richmond. The old school buidings are mesmerising,

There’s a gingerbread shop and a chocolate shop too for extra wholesome vibes.

We recommend checking out the Richmond Bridge, the oldest bridge in Australia built by completely convict labour.
