A bucket list activity many Australians are ready to tick off, the big lap.
Desert, bushland, rainforests to coasts- Australia truly has it all.
We’re here to give you some ideas to add to your checklist and provide some inspo.
Here are the unmissable stops you have to check out on your trip:
The Great Barrier Reef is the perfect addition to your trip. The tropical climate of Northern Queensland is an ideal summer escape no matter the time of year and the beauty of the reef is unmatched.
Grab out some snorkelling gear (or hire it) and swim through the crystal blue waters to view the breath-taking underwater city.
Another North Queensland gem, the Daintree rainforest is a great escape from the flashy city lights. Take a walk through the Daintree and see the gorgeous waterfalls and tropical ecosystems.
Careful though, Cassowary’s are in an abundance here!
This northern NSW town is a perfect pitstop. The retro vibes are all around and there are so many great activities to keep you busy for a few days.
Paragliding, sky diving and walks are all great activities to partake in during your stay.
For those wanting to get the Sydney experience but less of the hustle and bustle of the city- Bondi is the perfect place to stop.
The Bondi to Bronte walk is great way to get out and stretch your legs with great views to keep you motivated.
The Bass Coast is a Victorian location often argued is too overlooked, and we have to agree. This location brings the mountains to the coast and has a bushy terrain that brings a unique experience to your big lap.
And, if you time it right- the Bass Coast hosts some great festivals.
The unique rocky statures in the middle of the ocean are gonna seal the deal for your Big Lap trip. The Great Ocean Road an absolute must-do for those instagrammable pics and the experience of a lifetime.
This history-enriched town is the perfect spot to get your Australian culture fix. It’s red soil gives huge outback vibes and a distinct country outlook.
This is a great spot for 4-WD’ers hoping to tackle the Simpson Desert too.
Maybe not the ideal swimming location, if you could tell by the name, but Shark Bay has some stunning views that are a great add-on to your trip.
If you find yourself in Shark Bay, head to Little Lagoon- you won’t regret it!
A highly underrated destination, Broome brings rusty, orange soil straight down to the shoreline. It’s picturesque location is one you absolutely can’t skip.
We recommend planning to stay here for a few days to completely absorb it’s unique atmosphere, especially if you’re not originally from Australia.
For those wanting to travel to the Australia hinterlands during their big lap, Alice Springs is one to add to the list.
This rural town has it all. Gorgeous views, friendly residents and great Australian culture.
This one speaks for itself.
There is no sunset that can rival the scene before the beautiful Uluru.
Arguably the 8th wonder of the word- it’s one of Earth’s true natural treasures.
The Valley of the Winds walk is one you don’t want to miss. The full circuit takes approximately 4 hours but offers distinct views you seriously won’t find anywhere else in the world.
Keep in mind, during the summer peak you can’t enter after 10am due to heat! It’s highly recommended to go during the early morning or later afternoon to avoid the Northern Territory’s (or Australia in general) scathing temperatures.
