The best tools for educating your campers at home!

Anybody who has done a big trip with kids will know that it can be challenging to keep up their education and to take on the role of both teacher and parent at the same time!

With the right tools and planning, though, it can become a whole lot easier! With more of us educating the kids at home right now, we thought it would be helpful to put together a list of some awesome online resources to help the kids learn from home.

Khan Academy: This not-for-profit offers video lessons for every and age subject (mums and dad included) and they even have a Khan Academy Kids app for ages 2-7. With many schools currently closed, they are even offering useful daily schedules to help streamline your family’s learning.

GoNoodle: This is a great one for primary school aged kids who might be feeling a little cooped up right now! GoNoodle engages 14 million kids every month with movement and mindfulness videos created by child development experts. The whole child approach is designed to benefit kids’ physical wellness, academic success, and social-emotional health.

Quizlet: For the high schoolers or uni students, this one is the perfect study or revision tool. You use flashcards, educational games, and outside the box resources to help conquer educational challenges! They also cover a range of topics including languages, science, maths, social science, arts and more!

National Geographic: From science facts, to downloadable resources for every subject, to competitions and games, National Geographic has it all! It’s one of our favourite websites for discovering new things, reading interesting facts and learning about the world.

ABC Education: This is another great option for all ages. ABC Education offers resources for primary students, secondary students and teachers – and as a bonus, they are curriculum linked AND free! ABC Education has a huge range of content including lessons on financial literacy, First Australians, news, games, history, and apps.

NASA Kids Club: How cool is this?! NASA kids club is the perfect way for Earth kids to learn about Space! You can play games, learn about NASA, test your driving skills, find out about the space station, and download a heap of fun activities to do at home – we have a feeling the parents might love this as well.
