September Pedders Winner: The Ultimate Upgrade Opportunity

When Victorian adventurer Josh S got the news to say he’d won the $5,000 Pedders upgrade voucher for September, he couldn’t believe his ears.

“Absolute shock — I was just thinking, no way!” he recalls. For someone who spends so much time exploring Australia’s wild landscapes, the win couldn’t have landed with a more deserving traveller.

Josh’s go-to setup is his trusted Toyota Hilux, a rig that has taken him from rough 4WD tracks to peaceful bush camps for years. Whether he’s heading off-grid with mates or loading up for a weekend escape, the Hilux is the backbone of every adventure.

“We love taking it out 4WDing and camping,” Josh says — and the photos he shared from past trips show just how much ground he’s covered.

Endless Possibilities

Now, thanks to Pedders, that beloved Hilux is about to get a major upgrade. Josh hasn’t settled on the exact work yet, but he’s buzzing about the possibilities.

“We’re still undecided on exactly what we want, but we’re so excited to make some well-overdue upgrades,” he says.

Josh’s love for camping goes way back to his teen years, when trips meant a simple tent, a few friends, and a sense of freedom. Over time, he’s built up the gear, the skills, and the passion — and the outdoors remains where he feels most at home.

“It’s just the best being able to get outdoors with friends and family exploring new places together.”

Some of his all-time favourite destinations? Coffin Bay, Dargo, and Southwest National Park — places that perfectly match his love of big landscapes and remote adventure. And next on the wish list? A bucket-list journey to K’Gari, hopefully in the next couple of years and in a newly upgraded Hilux.
