Category: Inspiration, News, Road To A Million, Date: 22 September 2024

POV: it’s been a while since your last getaway and you’re getting the itch! The weather is getting warmer, the flowers are blooming, and you’re dropping hints to your family left, right and centre about wanting a long weekend away. You’ve practically packed their bags for them!

From experiences in nature to family fun, delicious food and everything in between, you can’t go past the Sunshine Coast for a long weekend getaway, so here’s the perfect itinerary that will help you jam in the Sunny Coast’s best experiences along your next Queensland road trip!

Friday: Noosa

It’s time to prepare for the day: head into Hastings Street to fuel up with a delicious breakfast! Pick a fan favourite like Cafe Le Monde and enjoy fresh, local flavours before you head out for a day of adventure.

Learning a new skill together is the ultimate in family fun! If you’re not already seasoned surfers, book a morning surfing lesson at Noosa Heads! With a range of local surf schools to choose from, you’ll be a pro in no time!

Experience a brewery tour and some lunch at Land & Sea Brewery. Not only will you enjoy delicious and locally sourced food, you’ll also have the opportunity to sample locally brewed beers, native to Noosa.

After a big morning, there’s nothing quite like a splash in the pool! If you choose to stay at Ingenia Holidays Noosa Thursday and Friday nights, you’ll get to enjoy a resort-style pool before settling in for the evening.

Saturday: Coolum

The Sunshine Coast boasts some of the state’s most beautiful beaches, so star your journey South and stop in at Coolum Beach for a morning swim to start your day. You’ll feel refreshed and ready for your next adventure.

While you’re in the area, head to Mount Coolum and challenge the family to a hike if they’re seasoned walkers – the return trip will take 1.5 – 2 hours and the view from the top will be well worth the climb. Don’t forget to pack sunscreen and plenty of water.

After all that exercise, you’ll deserve to kick back and relax for the afternoon. Choose Ingenia Holidays Rivershore for Saturday and Sunday night and not only will you park up in a stunning, riverfront location, but you’ll also be able to watch the sunset over yet another resort-style pool from a cabana, and either choose to fire up the BBQ or head to Driftwood Restaurant Cafe and Bar for an easy, fuss-free (and delicious) dinner.

Sunday: Beerwah

Once everyone’s eaten yet another lazy holiday breakfast (is there a better kind?!), it’s time to head to the world-famous Australia Zoo! Your last hoorah will offer lasting memories, with the home of the Irwins being home to over 1,200 animals from all around the world, as well as your Australian favourites.

After a big day out at Australia Zoo, enjoy one last night before travelling home – luckily, the Sunshine Coast is perfect year-round and is packed with family fun for your next long weekend getaway.
