Our Hidden Gems series continues with one of Perth’s most spectacular natural attractions: Lesmurdie Falls. Located within Mundy Regional Park on the edge of the Darling Scarp, this seasonal waterfall offers breathtaking views, scenic walking trails and one of the best sunset spots in the Perth Hills.
Cascading 40 metres over the granite cliffs of the Darling Scarp, Lesmurdie Falls is the largest waterfall in the Perth Hills. Visitors can enjoy stunning views across the Swan Coastal Plain from several lookout points located just a short walk from the main picnic area. On clear days, you can even spot the Perth CBD skyline in the distance.
Lesmurdie Falls is a fantastic destination for walkers and photographers alike. A network of trails ranges from short and gentle strolls through the upper reaches of the brook to steeper loop walks leading to the base of the falls. Along the way, you’ll discover rocky cascades, peaceful bushland and beautiful seasonal wildflowers and orchids.

The falls are also renowned as one of the best sunset locations in the Perth Hills. As the sun drops over the city skyline, the escarpment lights up in shades of gold and orange, creating an unforgettable backdrop for photographers and nature lovers.
