Hidden Gem on the Tasman Peninsula: The Remarkable Cave

Category: Inspiration, News, Road To A Million, Date: 24 September 2025

Hidden away on Tasmania’s wild Tasman Peninsula is a ‘remarkable’ must-see attraction that truly lives up to its name. The Remarkable Cave, near Port Arthur, is a natural wonder formed through centuries of erosion, framed by dramatic coastline and rugged cliffs. If this hidden gem isn’t on your Tasmanian bucket list, it should be!

A Natural Marvel in Tasman National Park

Located within Tasman National Park, this tunnel-like cave was shaped by powerful waves crashing against sandstone cliffs. Over time, part of the cave wall collapsed, creating the striking tunnel structure we see today.

Before descending, take in the breathtaking views of Penguin Rocks and the bay from Maingon Bay Lookout. Then follow the steep — but manageable — steps down to the cave itself. At the base, a viewing platform offers the perfect vantage point to admire the tunnel and, if conditions allow, witness the spectacular sight of waves surging through.
