Heartland connects manufacturers, dealers, suppliers and families through authentic stories of adventure, wellbeing and community—telling the stories of the purpose, the people, the products and the places that make caravan and camping more than just a holiday. These are stories of real journeys, craftsmanship and purpose that prove it’s truly a way of life.
In the first episode of Heartland, we visit Targgerty, Victoria, to meet Trevor and Kathryn from Kokoda Caravans.
They share their caravanning philosophy, the motivation behind their designs, and the innovation that goes into building truly capable caravans for Australian conditions. It’s a story of craftsmanship, passion and purpose—where every build reflects a commitment to life on the road.

When a caravan manufacturer collapsed, the Logan family lost tens of thousands of dollars—and with it, their dream of travelling Australia. Just when hope seemed lost, Nova Caravans in Campbellfield stepped in.
Without fanfare or expectation, owners Rob and Louise Cataldo built the family a brand-new caravan, completely free of charge. The Logans named it “Phoenix”, a symbol of hope rising from the ashes.
It’s a reminder that while caravan and camping is an industry, it’s also a community—built on people who genuinely care about the journeys of others.
Heartland exists to remind us that behind every caravan, every workshop and every road trip, there are people—builders, families, innovators and communities—who make this industry what it is.
