Day 1: Sydney to Umina (1hr 26min | 87km)

Stop 1: Australian Reptile Park Kick off your trip with a visit to the Australian Reptile Park. Here, you can hold a giant python, cuddle a quokka, or tickle a dingo behind the ears. This park offers hands-on experiences with spiders, crocodiles, turtles, and more, making it a hit with kids of all ages.

Stop 2: Brisbane Water National Park Next, explore Brisbane Water National Park. For an easy walk with Aboriginal rock engravings and scenic waterfalls, try the Girrakool loop track. Mountain bikers can tackle the Tommos loop and Rocky Ponds cycling loop for a 20km bushland adventure. In spring, the park is adorned with native flannel flowers and waratahs.

Stop 3: Patonga Hotel Enjoy a meal at the Patonga Hotel, a local favorite in the sleepy hamlet of Patonga. Relish craft beers and local seafood while taking in views across Pittwater to Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Spend the night at NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Resort, a beachfront oasis with kids’ activities, resort-style pools, and a waterpark.

Day 2: Umina to Myall Lakes (2hr 33min | 200km)

Stop 1: Breakfast in Umina Start your day with a relaxed breakfast at the on-site café or The Cove across the creek. Café Ronto offers creative dishes in a stylish space.

Stop 2: Norah Head Lighthouse Head to Norah Head Lighthouse, built in 1903. Enjoy panoramic views and join a 30-minute tour between 10am and 1:30pm.

Stop 3: Myall Lakes National Park Myall Lakes National Park is a serene wetland paradise. Swim, kayak, fish, or simply relax amidst the paperbark forest. In spring, the park showcases stunning wildflower displays. Spend the night at NRMA Myall Shores Holiday Park, offering comfy villas and safari tents, a swimming pool, and an on-site café.

Day 3: Myall Lakes to Forster (1hr 7min | 84km)

Stop 1: Great Lakes Paddocks Visit Great Lakes Paddocks, a laid-back winery open six days a week. Grab a bottle of bubbles or a crisp white for later.

Stop 2: Forster Main Beach Pick up fresh Sydney rock oysters from Graham Barclay Oysters and enjoy a beach picnic. Take a dip in the ocean baths.

Stop 3: Wallis Lake Hire a kayak or SUP from Forster’s Boat Shed Number One to explore Wallis Lake’s clear waters, quiet backwaters, islands, and oyster farms. Spend the night at NRMA Foster Tuncurry Holiday Park and relax in the heated pool, or enjoy a ride on e-bikes, along the sparkling estuary. 

Day 4: Forster to South West Rocks (1hr 7min | 84km)

Stop 1: Trial Bay Gaol Drive an hour north to South West Rocks and visit the historic Trial Bay Gaol in Arakoon National Park. Enjoy ocean views and a meal at Malt and Honey café, known for its fresh juices, large portions, and perfectly crafted coffee. Relax in a rainforest oasis at NRMA South West Rocks Holiday Resort. There’s a huge range of accommodation from sites to glamping and plenty of fun for kids.

Day 5: South West Rocks to Coffs Harbour (1hr | 87km)

Stop 1: Fish and Chips at Coffs Harbour Arrive in Coffs Harbour and enjoy fish and chips from SeaSalt. Explore Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve, home to thousands of breeding wedge-tailed shearwaters from August to April.

Stop 2: Arrawarra Stay at NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Resort in Arrawarra, just 30 minutes north of Coffs Harbour. This family-friendly resort is set among 110 acres of sub-tropical rainforest, offering a peaceful retreat with kangaroos hopping through the grounds.
