Australia has an abundance of fantastic caravan parks spread all over the country however, many of these are geared towards families and campers with kids. During the school holidays, caravan parks are especially busy with little ones running wild! For some, this is precisely what they love about holidaying in a caravan park, but many caravanners prefer something a little more ‘peaceful, quiet and over-18s!’ 

To help you choose the perfect campsite for a tranquil, social and scenic escape, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite adult-only or predominantly adult-only parks. Check them out!

Adult-only and pet-friendly, Prime Tourist Park at the gateway to Lakes Entrance is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a relaxing break. The park has its own pool and plenty of pet-friendly accommodation options, including cabins, cottages, powered and unpowered sites! It’s also ideally located next to all the wonderful attractions Lakes Entrance has to offer!  

Whether you prefer to spend your days relaxing on the beach, lazing by the adults-only pool or enjoying activities on the lake, there is no better place to stay while exploring the picturesque Gippsland Lakes.

The park boasts self-contained accommodation and large drive through sites, giving you ample space and privacy. In addition to the endless activities available on the Murray River, the park offers a stunning swimming pool and covered BBQ/entertainment area for you to enjoy.  

Self-described as ‘predominantly adult-only’ this caravan park is the perfect spot to relax and explore the nearby Murraylands, Adelaide Hills or Fleurieu Peninsula. 

4. Glen Villa Resort, Byron Bay, NSW

Not only can you enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the park itself, but set amongst the backdrop of the stunning Barossa Valley, you are spoiled for scenery and experiences too. 

As Australia’s best-known wine region, Barossa Valley is home to 150 wineries and over 80 cellar doors to explore. In addition to the wineries, with an abundance of historic buildings, museums, scenic tours, bush walks, art galleries, and amazing dining experiences, there are few caravan parks better placed for an adult-only escape in SA. 

7. El Questro, The Kimberley, WA

Nestled in the heart of the Kimberley region, El Questro is 700,000 acres of vast, beautiful and ancient landscape. The unique property has a rich and unique heritage, which only adds to the experience of staying amongst the dramatic sandstone ranges and breathtaking cliffs, waterfalls and gorges. While the campground options at El Questro aren’t strictly adult-only, the iconic ‘Homestead’ is a luxurious adult-only retreat.  

This little hideaway is framed by avenues of frangipani trees and overlooks the quiet Chamberlain River. There is no better place in the Kimberley to enjoy a tranquil escape from reality and immerse yourself in nature.
