Category: Inspiration, News, Date: 26 April 2022

Sometimes we all just need to get away from the big smoke of city life, especially the bustle of SA.

A great excuse to get away is to grab some friends and hit the hiking trail.

Not only is it a good way to get fit, but it’s super rewarding too.

Here we’ve listed some of the best hiking trails found in South Australia.

Murray River Trails

Whether you’re looking for a short hour long walk or a four day trek, the Murray River Trails have something for you.

Walk along the reddened dirt and the gorgeous Murray river for views you won’t find anywhere else.

Rosetta Trail

The Rosetta Trail may only be 800m, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it.

Unlike so much of SA, this walk is as green as it gets. It’s right by the coast and has awe-inspiring sights.

Mount Woodroffe (Ngarutjaranya)

You’ll have to be dedicated to make it to this one, but it is absolutely worth the trip to get here.

Bordering along the Northern Territory lies the Mount Woodroffe (Ngarutjaranya) hiking trail.

It’s only run once a year, and you have to go through a tour guide which seeks permission from the traditional owners of the year- but the experience is completely unique.

You can meet the traditional elders of the land who speak on the the lifestyle and traditions of the regions all while trekking through some of the most distinctive bushlands in the country.

Wilpena Pound Lookout

This one is for more advanced hikers, but it’s truly worth the steep incline.

This trail is the full Aussie experience. Creeks, bushlands, red dirt and canyons- it doesn’t get more Australian than this.

Not to mention, the views from the summit are breath-taking.
