You get to see so much of the country and sights you won’t see anywhere else.

But sometimes on those long distance drives- it can be a little tough getting in your 30 minutes of exercise a day.

We’ve listed our top ideas to help you keep fit on your next caravan holiday.

If you’re travelling around and visiting several different towns, it could be worth investing in a passport gym membership.

A passport gym membership is a type of membership that allows you to visit the same brand of gym anywhere around the country.

Bring your bike

Invest in a good pair of bike racks to attach to the roof of your car, and bring your bike along.

There are countless cycling tracks around the country- both regionally and metro.

It’s also a great way to view the wonderful scenery of the place your travelling to!

Park Run

Park Run is a great initiative partaken by all around the world.

It’s a free, weekly, community 5K run each Saturday morning. It’s a great for people of all fitness levels as there is no time limit and nobody finishes last.

Everyone is welcome to come along, whether you walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Plus, it’ll give you a chance to meet some of the locals and sus out some hidden gem attraction spots!

Walking Trails

Trekking through some of the local walking trails is a great way to keep fit.

Not only is it family friendly, but it’s fun!

You’ll have an opportunity to chat with your walking buddies and see the wonderful sights your location has to offer.

Most local regional councils will offer a list of walking trails on their websites- taking the hard part off your shoulders!

Swimming

Swimming is an awesome way to get fit, especially in the summer months or if you’re travelling north.

Just be sure to research your swimming location to ensure there’s no creepy critters about (again- especially if you’re travelling north!)

Aerobics

Head to your local sporting goods store and pick up some cheap weights to keep in the van.

There are countless YouTube videos to choose from and to keep you feeling happy and motivated.

It takes up little to no space to keep in the van, and you can opt to exercise inside or outside!

Bring a Yoga Mat

Yoga mats are a cheap and easy fix to keeping fit while on a caravan holiday.

Install a free app onto your phone or watch one of countless tutorials online to help you get started.

Plus- you can use your yoga mat to meditate- essential for mental fitness.

Kid’s Group Activities

If you’re feeling stuck on how to keep the kids pre-occupied and fit during your holiday, check out some of your local parks group activities for kids.

Often, various sporting activities will be hosted all throughout the week!
