John and Judy Sautchuk were the lucky winners of a 28 day roadtrip holiday in an Avida motorhome, a competition run by Sunrise, Avida and Let’s Go Caravan & Camping.
They took Judy’s parents on the trip of a lifetime, driving from Newcastle, and then along the Great Ocean road in the Avida motorhome.
Judy says it was a great treat to bring her parents, especially her dad who was the trip researcher, as they uncovered all the wonderful experiences and things to see along the road.
Their favourite was the Buchan Caves, which Judy’s father corralled them into seeing despite Judy’s claustrophobia. “He bought the ticket, so I had to go, and once we got in there it was just amazing. Absolutely amazing.”
For the Sautchuk’s and their parents, the road itself was the best part of the trip.
“People tell you the Great Ocean Road is great, you know, but when you’re actually on it – it’s breathtaking! I was amazed,” said Judy.
Over the 28 days their itinerary took in the Petrified Forrest, the Twelve Apostles, the Puffing Billy and many more tourist attractions, as well as staying in the many special caravan parks along the way.
“And the weather was very good to us.”
