Spring’s arrival in Western Australia is marked by mild, sunny weather, vibrant blooming wildflowers and unique wildlife encounters. This is when WA truly shines—buzzing festivals, unforgettable outdoor adventures, and spectacular natural landscapes.

Here are some of the best places to visit in WA this Spring!

Wildflower Wonderland

With over 12,000 species, WA is renowned for its wildflower blooms. South of Perth, the Wheatbelt region bursts into colour with native wildflowers and golden canola fields. Drive through charming country towns and sweeping landscapes, stopping at hidden gems like Wave Rock and Lake Magic. Don’t miss the quirky Tin Horse Highway, a fun roadside gallery of tin horses crafted by local farmers.

The ‘Wildflower Way’ is a stunning drive that takes you from Dalwallinu through the Northern Wheatbelt towns, finishing in coastal Geraldton.

Coastal Wonders

WA boasts some of the most spectacular coastline in Australia, and Spring is the perfect time to explore it. Up north along the Coral Coast and Ningaloo Reef you’ll find warm, dry weather—perfect for snorkelling, diving, swimming, or kayaking the reef. You can spot humpback whales this time of year as well as tropical fish, vibrant coral and more than 450 species of marine life.

For some fun out of the sea, hike in Cape Range National Park and be treated to breathtaking views at Charles Knife Canyon or follow the wildflower trail.

Further south, Spring is also breathing life into the Margaret River region. In addition to exploring the blooming wildflowers and spotting migrating whales you can head out on the Cape to Cape track walk, explore the world-famous vineyards and soak up seasonal festivals such as the popular Pair’d Margaret River Festival.
