More the Merrier for Tassie Caravanning – The Blackmores

After a solid stint travelling and a long time away from family and friends, we were so happy to welcome my sister and her family to Tassie, and spend the festive season travelling with them.

Week Twenty Two

Evie and Bruce were beyond excited to see Ruby and Jack and we knew they were going to have a blast together. Kate and James had hired a caravan for their stay so we could make the most being able to travel around and see as much of Tasmania as we could in the short time we had together.

1st stop however was a day trip to Port Arthur. This historic site is an absolute must do when coming to Tassie it really gives you a great sense of the rich history we have in this country and even the kids learnt a thing or two. Unfortunately we couldn’t stop to see all the wonderful places around Port Arthur because we’d arranged to head across to Bruny Island for Christmas and the kids were super excited to just hang out and play at the beach.

We stayed in Adventure Bay and was the perfect Christmas location. We had great weather, great food and great company. Plus the big fellow Santa found us and we enjoyed the usual chaotic Christmas morning together.

Bruny Island certainly has a lot to offer we tripped around to the lighthouse, berry farm, get shucked oyster sales and picked up some of the delicious Bruny Island cheese. We had a massive seafood lunch on Christmas Day including some of the many tasty flathead Colin and James caught on their kayaks just off the beach in adventure bay and some calamari the boys caught off the jetty.

But after such a fabulous time it was time to move on only thing to do was decide where to go?
