Kye here. We have arrived at our patch of paradise that’s responsible for the traveling seed that was planted within myself and John about four years ago.
We stayed at the Cotton Tree Caravan Holiday Park, situated right on the most stunning beach and the Maroochy River. I think what made this park so special was all of the other campers around us. We had a little community going on and made some beautiful friends. I never imagined that by having short stays in a caravan park it could be possible to develop a sense of community. Again we extended our stay, how could we not when we wake up to the sound of the surf with little voices at the side of our bed saying “Daddy get up, the surf is up”. The park is in an ideal location close to shops and cafes also plus it’s neat as a pin and run by beautiful and friendly staff
We folded on the whole ‘one fun park’ idea and took the kids to Aussie World as well. It is a 100% percent must do and affordable fun. No lines for rides, loads of different rides for the under 8 year olds and fast thrill seeking rides for myself and Jack. I did commit to do kids schooling that day ….Oops.
Again great waterway for Johnny to SUP plus he had a proud daddy moment when he got the boys to surf on the same board together. I was screaming and clapping crazily from the shore. It’s been so wonderful watching our boys step out and try adventurous activities they would never have ordinarily done.
I have loved visiting the local gym and trying new classes, I sure need them as I am eating my way through QLD. I also went walking in the evenings with some of the other mums in the park.
Elk has been a little sooky this week so to avoid the fight she hasn’t participated in any school work. As for the boys and schooling, again trying to be a little looser with structure and allowing them to learn from different angles.
They are starting to miss their Grandparents this week so excitement is brewing knowing one of their Poppy’s is coming to visit next week, he is flying up to visit us in Noosa. He just can’t keep away from his favourite grandkids.
Four weeks down and what a trip so far this truly is an amazing experience for all five of us. We have been so lucky with escaping our freezing Tassie winter and the kids are getting along far better than that at home. I am loving spending time with Johnny Boy (only a few tense moments so far).
We had a soggy pack up in the rain but it’s only the second time we have had rain on over a month so we can’t complain too much. Big day on the road, 42km to Noosa.
