The Stuart family continues part of their Reconnecting is Key Competition journey, driving from Bicheno to St Helens, also known as the Bay of Fires.

Bicheno to St Helens

We are now in North East Tasmania, and spent our fifth day travelling from Bicheno to St Helens (Bay of Fires).

Today we visited Wineglass Bay in the Freycinet National Park, where we finally got to test out the waterproof clothing!  It was raining when we got to the lookout over the bay which didn’t make for the best photos unfortunately, but it was still worthwhile and very well organised as a park which caters well for the bushwalking fraternity.

I know this may seem a bizarre comment but Queensland National Parks could learn a thing or two about how to organise sufficient car parking for their guests!  Here in Tassie they have obviously forward-planned for growth, which makes for stress free arrival at the location.

The seaside wind along this coast is exceptionally refreshing and the views spectacular in the Bay of Fires district.

Loving the fact we are seeing seals in the wild! Here is one sunning on the rock at the beach we visited in the beautiful little seaside village of Binalong Bay.
