From Grace – So far in Western Australia we have been to lots of places and doing lots of things. We were lucky enough to go to all of the Extraordinary Experiences. The Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre, Bussleton Jetty Underwater Observatory, the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk and Discovery Bay and the National ANZAC Centre in Albany.
They all were lots of fun, but my favourite place was the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk which is near a place called Walpole. You start on the ground and the ramp gets higher and higher until you get into the top of the trees. It was really cool to be so high off the ground, the walking bridges even wobbled as you walked along which was pretty scary until you got used to it.
Tom and I also had a detective sheet that we had to do but Tom didn’t want to do it so I just did it. You had to answer lots of questions about the walk like what is the highest point you can walk to – it’s 40m above the ground. I learnt a lot about all the different types of trees, they were Karri trees and they were sooo big, it was really cool to just stand on the ground and look straight up.
On the ancient walk, which is a walk on the ground through the forest, we found a heap of different birds and a special tree that had a face like a grandma. The Valley of the Giants was awesome and I can’t wait to see what we do next.
