Wesley’s Follow the Sun journey continues! At the end of June, Wes was officially handed the keys to the Follow the Sun Relay motorhome by Annette Sym, our relay starter. Wes is a professional filmmaker based in Melbourne, who flew up to Brisbane to begin his long journey up to Cairns. Watch as he starts cruising the Great Barrier Reef!
After an awesome time at Cape Hillsborough including an unforgettable sunrise, I hit the road again and headed up to Airlie Beach, where I stayed at BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday.
Not only was the location great, but they even put on an awesome pancake breakfast!
Before I even began my leg of the relay, one of the things I was most looking forward to was heading up to the Great Barrier Reef and seeing some of of the amazing marine life.
My friend Marley was with my for this part of the trip and we were lucky enough to go on an incredible tour of the Great Barrier Reef with Cruise Whitsundays.
We took a long boat trip out, and during the ride we actually saw some whales!
When we arrived we grabbed some flippers and snorkels and jumped right into the water- it was a beautiful day and the water was so clear. We saw all the usual amazing coral, heaps of different types of fish and really made the most of every minute.
Visiting the reef was a definite highlight and doing it all with Cruise Whitsundays made it all so easy. If you’re ever in the area I would definitely recommend it!
