You’d actually be surprised that one of the things we’ve found difficult on our trip so far is deciding where to go next. In saying that it’s amazing the wealth of information people have who you meet on the road, from those we’ve met in caravan holiday parks, the shops and even just randoms at some of the places we’ve visited. It amazing that while we are all undertaking the same activity that we have unique stories of travel and people are more than happy to offer up their suggestions and “secret spots”.
We eventually settled on Batemans Bay which is about 160kms further south down the east coast. There were plenty of surrounding beaches and national parks that we wanted to visit so it worked out to be a great base. Pebbly Beach was probably my favorite, the water was crystal clear and the wildlife was abundant with very friendly kangaroos and king parrots.
Colin finally had the right conditions to fly the drone so he got some great footage (although he’s critical that there was drone shadow, I thought it was impressive).
We also went to Murramarang National park which had some good 4wd tracks. We managed a trip to Mogo zoo on the advice of some fellow campers which was definitely worth the visit and I think this was the kids highlight.
