Now back on the road we made our way further down the coast about 300 kms to what I can only describe as a little piece of paradise.
With the sun finally shining we pulled into Big 4 Kiama. This week we just wanted to de-stress get back on track to enjoying our adventure and give the kids some much needed time to play.
For a fairly small town Kiama certainly has a lot on offer with the most amazing coastal walks, 22kms to be precise, some of which is grass only (which didn’t suit our cheap strollers) but plenty of flat footpath walks including a great walk up to the lighthouse and blowhole.
Not only are there plenty of coastal walks and playgrounds we also ventured out of town to Budderoo National Park for the Carrington falls which were unfortunately closed for fire burn off but we still managed a small waterfall viewing at Nellies Glen which made up for the kids disappointment.
On the way home we stopped in for a quick schooey at the Jamberoo pub which was built in the mid 1800’s. Kids got an everybody wins skill tester which made their day and the parents got to enjoy their beer for a measly $8 ($2 per skill tester go) as the kids tirelessly retrieved their plastic ornaments. All in all, it was an amazing week in Kiama, kids had a ball at the facilities on offer at the campground and we got some much needed relief and sunshine, onwards and upwards!!
