While travelling around you can look out for the pet-friendly symbol or plan ahead and click on the filter parks when performing a search on the SA Parks website here to find which parks can accommodate you.

Most of these parks have pet-friendly sites, while over 50 also have pet-friendly cabins which are likely to be limited, so best to book ahead to secure these.

Some handy hints when bringing your pet:

  • Let the park know you are bringing your pet & check whether there are any conditions, some parks may limit pets during peak times.
  • Pets want to enjoy their holiday too – make sure you never leave your pet unattended.
  • Remember that other park guests are also on holiday – try to ensure your pet does not interfere with other people’s enjoyment.
  • Some pet-friendly properties have restrictions on the number of dogs allowed during a stay. Check with the property before your stay to confirm the number of pets allowed at the accommodation.
  • The pet friendly parks symbol indicates pets are accepted on caravan & camping sites only. Parks with pet friendly cabins can be found by using the FILTER PARKS feature.

Of course, guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs are allowed different conditions to pets. Owners of these dogs are advised to contact the park directly.

Popular options include Penola Coonawarra Caravan Park, Discovery Parks Adelaide Beachfront, Echo Holiday Parks – Renmark, Point Turton Caravan Park and Penong Caravan Park.

And remember to look for the Pet Friendly Symbol at SA Parks all around South Australia.
