When do school holidays start in Queensland?
School holidays vary from state to state.
In Queensland, the winter school holidays begin on the 11th of July to September 16th.
Australia Zoo
Once home to the world famous crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin, Australia Zoo is a great family destination to bring the kids these school holidays.
Located inbetween the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, it’s a cost-effective way to keep the kids entertained.

Whale watching is a favourite Australian past-time, but in the winter months it’s even better.
You get to hang around the coast and ocean all day without having to hop into the chilly water with a spectacular view.
For a close-to-brisbane spot, Moreton Bay is popular spot- however, if you have a little extra time on your hands, Hervey Bay is a great whale watching spot.
River Kayak Adventure
This is an activity perfect for more mature/older children.
