Recipe: Apple Pie Scones

These Apple Pie Scones are the perfect cool morning breakfast when camping and they’re even more moist than most scones!

Serves: 16

Ingredients

  • 2 Cup flour
  • 1/3 Cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  •  ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ Cup cold butter, cubed
  • 2/3 Cup apple pie filling, smashed
  • ¾ Cup heavy cream

Instructions

1.    In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg

2.    Work in butter using a pastry blender

3.    In a med bowl, whisk apple pie filling and cream: stir into flour mixture

4.    On a lightly floured surface, shape into an 8-inch square {it will be sticky}

5.    Cut into 16 triangles and bake on a baking sheet at 200 degrees C for 20 min

6.    Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar, if desired
