As campers, we love exploring new places and going day trips and excursions, but that’s not really an option now, right?
Wrong!
Thanks to modern technology, a lot of museums, art galleries and national parks are currently offering online access to take a virtual tour from the comfort and safety of your own home.
So grab your computer or electronic tablet, get comfortable in your at-home camping set-up, and join us on a virtual adventure. Here are some awesome options for place to explore online:
The Grand Canyon: Of course, our first suggestion is an outdoor-style experience: The Grand Canyon! Via Google Earth, you can head all the way to Arizona and explore this wonder of the world. Be warned though; there’s a fair chance it will make you want to get out on a hiking or camping trip.
Zoos Victoria: For anybody who wants to get their fix of animals and wildlife, Zoos Victoria have got you covered. You can virtually visit penguins, zebras, lions, giraffes and more!
NASA: Here’s something you don’t usually get to see today – NASA! They’ve got a ton of virtual tours you can take at their Glenn Research Centre including the Glenn Hangar, Zero-G, Wind Tunnels, Operations Laboratory, and much more!
The Museum of Natural History: If you want to learn and have fun at the same time, it doesn’t get much better than the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Since the real museum is based all the way over in Washington DC, the virtual tour is the closest many of us will get.
National Gallery of Victoria: For a bit of culture, NGV have set up some awesome virtual tours on their Instagram page. They are sharing new ones every day and you can check out a wide variety of exhibitions, so there is something for everybody.
