Three weeks down

Meet our new blogger

Three weeks

After three weeks on the road we have all got into the rhythm. We’ve done most of the things we had planned to for these three weeks as well as a few extra surprises that have been great- that’s one of the things we love most about this style of travel. Some of our highlights of the last three weeks have been:

  • For Oscar the Great Ocean Road, particularly the 12 Apostles. Adelaide Oval and the Bradman Collection, the tour we did at Coober Pedy and Uluru.
  • For Harriet, she has loved camel riding at Uluru and meeting new friends along the way. Hats has also managed to have a swim in every park pool we have been to, despite some of them being freezing!
  • For Adam, he loved getting into the geographic centre of Australia and our site at Spear Creek at the edge of the Flinders Ranges.
  • For me, I have loved being back at Uluru and doing a sunrise run around the ‘rock’ was a definite highlight. I also really enjoyed Coober Pedy and the Great Ocean Road, both fascinating places in very different ways.

We are working well together as a team and seem to have got into a good travel rhythm including giving each other their own space which is important.

The general pace of travel and being with the family has been simply wonderful. We’ve got a plan for the next week or so with some definite stops scheduled, but are also looking forward to a few surprises along the way.
