The sun is rising earlier and the weather is once again getting warmer, and we are already planning our next getaway!

For us Queenslanders, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast are often popular destinations to spend a family holiday at. These areas boast lively and active atmospheres which is great, but sometimes we prefer a more laid-back destination. For those times when you’re looking for a quieter escape, you might want to consider holidaying at the tranquil North Stradbroke Island.

While we have always loved camping at the different beaches of North Stradbroke Island, such as Adams Beach, Man Beach and Flinders Beach, we are excited to learn about the brand new upgrades to the campground amenities and communal areas across these camping sites! Therefore, there is no excuse not to book a family camping trip to Straddie these holidays! There is also talk about new accommodation options being built for visitors including eco, glamping and safari tents that will be on offer by the end of the year. Why not spice up your camping trip by choosing to stay in a luxurious tent?

Enjoying quality family time is imperative to a family camping trip and that’s why we have some activity suggestions for you to consider for your stay in Straddie.

  • Hire a surf board and practice stand up paddling
  • Get the kids out into the fresh air and take family bush walks on an endless number of trails
  • Whale watching tours are a fresh new activity recently launched in June 2019 by the traditional owners, the Quandamooka People, great for the whole family to witness!
  • Go on a guided bike tour
  • Enjoy the serenity of the ocean by trying beach yoga
