The Follow the Sun Relay officially launched on June 9 and is already off to a fantastic start!
Cookbook author and motivational speaker Annette Sym (along with her husband Bill) undertook the first leg, which officially began at the Queensland Caravan Camping and Touring Supershow in Brisbane with a special launch.
The launch was supported by representatives from sponsors Dometic and Winnebago Australia along with media partner What’s Up Downunder, with country music superstar and television presenter Tania Kernaghan as the MC on the day.
The launch was a huge success, with many attendees enjoying gift bags from Dometic and free food samples.
After a great cooking demonstration, Annette and Bill hit the road, spending a night at Brisbane Holiday Village before travelling to Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast.
As a cookbook author, healthy eating mentor and professional public speaker, Annette used her time on the road and at caravan parks to share some of her ideas and top tips for staying healthy on the road.
After their first night in the motorhome at Brisbane Holiday Village, Annette cooked up a breakfast for guests at the caravan park to enjoy.
Even Caravan Industry Association of Australia CEO Stuart Lamont lent a hand with the barbecue!
At BIG4 Toowoomba Garden City Holiday Park, the temperatures overnight were cool but the couple rugged up to stay nice and cozy in the motorhome. While in Toowoomba, Annette also tested out the motorhome’s oven with a batch of homemade healthy brownies!
The final stop on Annette and Bill’s journey was Rivershore Resort at the Sunshine Coast, where they cooked up a healthy storm for plenty of hungry visitors!
The menu included fritters, bacon, roast tomato and a vegetable mix cooked up on the BBQ facilities!
The second leg of the relay will see the Winnebago motorhome travel up to Cairns, with our next adventure due to depart very soon!
