When Lynelle Remington received a phone call telling her she had won a brand-new Mitsubishi Triton, she thought it was a prank.

It wasn’t.

After purchasing an RVMAP accredited Goldstream Caravan from Kratzmann Caravans, Lynelle and her husband Nev entered the ‘Win a Triton’ RVMAP promotion.

“When we entered, we just had to write about what we would do if we won a Mitsubishi Triton, and we basically said that we wanted to hook it up to our new caravan and do a big trip up to the cape,” Lynelle said.

“We couldn’t believe it when we won- I hung up on them twice before I really believed it!”

“We appreciated it so much. Having the caravan has been brilliant- we have been married for 41 years and done a lot of camping trips, and having the caravan is a nice addition, it makes it all a bit easier.”

Lynelle and Nev are currently planning to take long-service leave for their long awaited trip to the Cape, and in the mean time are utilizing their caravan to take shorter trips throughout Queensland.

Recently they have travelled through Central QLD and out to St George, and later this year will be heading to northern NSW.

For the Remingtons, camping is a popular holiday choice for the whole family.

“Our kids have grown up now but they still come back home to borrow everything, so we’ve kept a lot of our gear, the whole family goes camping.”

“Everybody is doing it for the same reason, they want to go and they really enjoy it. You meet some really interesting people, and (caravan and camping) gives you the ability to take your time and go where you want to go at your own pace.”

The promotion was to promote Caravan Industry Association of Australia’s RVMAP manufacturers to consumers, and to raise awareness and education about the program.
