Get excited for Fair Day!

Mardi Gras Fair Day is one of the most exciting events on the LGBTIQ+ calendar, and this year Caravan Industry Association of Australia is thrilled to be involved, along with Family Parks and Let’s Go Motorhomes.

The caravan and camping industry will be supporting the event and facilitating a presence through Australia’s Gay Nomads.

Lynne Hocking, Australia’s Gay Nomads ‘camp mother’, said it was great to see organisations and businesses from around the country supporting Australia’s LGBTIQ+ community.

“It’s bigger than just being there on the day, it’s about improving the lives of the LGBTIQ+ community and that’s why we align with Caravan Industry Association of Australia,” she said.

“They really aspire to help out and acknowledge the importance of making people feel included.”

“Mardi Gras Fair Day is the official kickoff of the Mardi Gras festival and about 80, 000 people go through… there’s lots of entertainment and we’ll be in the most important section, which is ‘Doggywood’.”

“It’s a highly sought-after position, we’ll have a doggy groomer and there are competitions for best hairdo, owner lookalike competitions, really funny stuff.”

Over 80, 000 people are expected to flock to Victoria Park in Sydney for the Fair Day event, which will kick off from 10am and feature live entertainment, stalls, food and drink outlets and more.
