Pine Point is located on the eastern side of Yorke Peninsula about 18km south of Ardrossan. It is a popular spot crabbing spot during summer with a nice safe swimming beach. There is great fishing for King George Whiting and Southern Calamari during the winter months. Pine Point overlooks the Bay of Port Alfred and was once one of the busiest ports on Yorke Peninsula. The seaside shack community of Black Point is located a short distance and you can walk there along the beach when the tide is low. Pine Point features walking trails, tennis courts and a general store. The towns central location makes it a great base from which to explore the Yorke Peninsula as less than 40kms away you will find the towns of Ardrossan, Maitland, Minlaton, Port Vincent and Stansbury.
The Yorke Peninsula is famous for its fishing and boating. Pine Points central location gives you easy access to the entire Peninsula. Gulf St Vincent is on our doorstep and you are only a short drive from Spencer Gulf on the other side. The Innes National Park is located 130km from Pine Point and is popular all year round. The Park contains native flora and fauna including kangaroos, wallabies and emus in their natural environment. The Inneston Historic Walk will teach visitors about the historic village of Inneston and the history of the gypsum mining in the area. Ethel Beach is also a popular location where visitors can see the remains of the Ethel shipwreck.
Walk the Yorke is a 500km+ continuous network of walking/cycling trails that showcases the Yorke Peninsula coastline. The trails pass through all the major coastal towns(including Pine Point) so there are many places to start or stop your journey. The trail passes right by the caravan park in Pine Point so you wont have to travel far to find it. Going south you will find a 28.5km walk to Port Vincent and to the north and 18.8km walk to Ardrossan.
