With Mother’s Day fast approaching, many of us are trying to decide on the best way to celebrate the mothers (and mother figures) in our lives. Our mothers are pretty spectacular, but it can be difficult to choose the right gift to show just how much we appreciate them. Rather than the usual bunch of flowers or breakfast in bed, why not organise a relaxing and special weekend at a caravan holiday park?

All around Australia, there are countless caravan holiday parks perfect for spoiling Mum and spending time together as a family! Here are a few of our suggestions:

BIG4 West Beach, South Australia: Set on 1.2kms of stunning coastline, BIG4 West Beach Parks is a much-loved holiday destination and with a choice of sites in addition to spacious self-catering cabins, there is an option for every budget. The convenient location alone makes this a fantastic option, with Harbour Town Shopping, Adelaide Airport, and the attractions of Glenelg all close by. For those wanting to make the most of outdoor options, the park is also adjacent to mini golf, tennis courts, boat launching facilities and more. At Adelaide Shores you can swim, surf, fish, walk and watch the sunset over the gulf waters.

NRMA Port Arthur, Tasmania: NRMA Port Arthur Holiday Park is the perfect base for exploring the famed Tasman Peninsula! The part itself is located on 40 acres of luscious grounds, with a range of special accommodation options including waterview cabins, safari tents, ensuite and unpowered sites, and even bunkhouses. Whether Mum wants a touch of glamour to to immerse herself in nature, the grounds offer options to suit all taste. The park is conveniently located just one kilometre north of Port Arthur in close proximity to historical attractions and plenty of things to see and do!

BIG4 Beacon Resort, Victoria: This resort has been helping families create memories for over 45 years. It’s the perfect place to let Mum kick back, relax and focus on wellbeing with free yoga classes, a day spa, indoor pool and 24/7 gym. If there are kids in your family they are catered for with free kids’ activities daily, a jumping pillow, indoor playground and more! Queenscliff provides the ideal base to explore coastal villages adorning the Bellarine Peninsula. Discover stunning beaches, swim with the dolphins, catch the ferry to Sorrento, visit family attractions and more.

Blue Mountains Tourist Parks, New South Wales: The Blue Mountains are an iconic Australian location, and the perfect spot for a Mother’s Day escape away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Blue Mountains Tourist Parks offer two great accommodation options; Katoomba Falls and Blackheath Glen. The two locations are immersed in bushland – the perfect base for exploring the kingdom of nature that surrounds the beautiful Blue Mountains. At the end of the day, return to the comfort and natural surroundings of the parks. They offer a choice of cabins and powered, unpowered, ensuite, and grassy camping sites.

Darwin Free Spirit Resort, Northern Territory: Nestled amongst tropical gardens, swaying palms and situated just 15 minutes drive south of the Darwin CBD, this idyllic tropical haven is a favourite amongst families and a perfect spot for a Mother’s Day getaway. Complete with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, wide range of accommodation and caravan and camping sites, and myriad of facilities, activities and entertainment, it makes it the perfect place to base yourself whilst exploring Darwin!

Rivershore Resort, Queensland: Located in beautiful Maroochydore, Rivershore Resort offers the opportunity to add a touch of glamour to your caravan camping weekend. With extra-large space for your caravan or camper trailer, amenity blocks you’ll dream about and three camp kitchens, Rivershore is an ideal base to explore the beaches, hinterland and all the attractions of the Sunshine Coast.

If you’re looking to treat Mum to an extra special weekend, we recommend taking advantage ofthe luxurious self-contained safari tents where you’ll have magical river views, and still be only a few metres from the large, heated pool and the park’s superb, fully-licenced restaurant.

Mandalay Holiday Resort, Western Australia: Three hours drive south of Perth, Busselton is a popular holiday spot with beautiful beaches, breathtaking natural scenery and a charming seaside esplanade, which is ideal for swimming, fishing, snorkelling, crabbing, sailing and beachcombing,

The 4 ½ star Mandalay Holiday Resort and Tourist Park has stunning views across the bay and is easily connected to the town of Busselton, so Mum can make the most of the outdoor activities, spend time in town, or kick back and relax in air conditioned quality accommodation. Their options include two storey apartment style luxury spa villas, beach cottages or deluxe spa chalets and ensuite cabins!
