Take a round trip from Darwin, through Kakadu national park with a stay at Jabiru, over to Litchfield and back to Darwin with these adventure inspired stops. Enjoy a camping adventure, or take your RV or motorhome and stop along at some of the caravan parks along the way. Leaving from Darwin, you’d be crazy to miss the opportunity to jump on a crocodile cruise and witness man-eating crocs in their natural habitat. These cruises are available in lots of places, so if you’d prefer to do it closer to Kakadu, that’s also an option!

From Darwin, it’s under 2 hours to our first stop: Kakadu national park. The national park is the best place to explore the northern territories wetlands, wildlife, and of course the iconic Nourlangie rock art. If you want to experience to truly unbelievable scale of the national park and take it all in, consider a Kakadu scene flight by helicopter, a once in a lifetime experience!

Through Kakadu, you will reach Jabiru, where the famous crocodile hotel is situated, a fun and quirky accommodation experience! Before you settle into your accommodation, you can experience one of the Yurmikmik walks. The Yurmikmik walks are a series of interconnected walking tracks, best adventured during the wet season! You can choose to walk anywhere between 2km-11km return, depending on your itinerary.

If you’re more in the mood for a swim, hike up to Koolpin Gorge with a camera and experience the natural beauty of the watering holes. You will need a permit for this hike, and camping is also available.

Itching for a croc free swim? I hope you packed your togs because Litchfield national park has some beautiful waterholes to swim in. You can go waterhole-hopping or head to the most popular spot, Wangi Falls, which is 2WD accessible and wheelchair accessible. Don’t forget to check out the termite mounds at Litchfield National Park before heading back to Darwin!
